Vintage Put In Bay Souvenir Salesman Sample Ruby Flash / Stain Bail Jar

For your consideration is a .... well I don't know what it is. I found it at a local resale shop. It is made of glass. The lid is clearly flashed/ stained ruby red. It is bail style. The jar measures just under 2 1/2" tall and is 1 5/8" across. (Too small for toothpicks) The bottom has an embossed "7". The side has "Put-In-Bay OHIO" on it in black. I don't know whether this was a souvenir at one time or a salesman sample. It is in good condition. No chips, cracks, etc. Its an awesome piece.
