Great Vintage “I Love You Mom” Cedar Box from Kelley’s Island, Ohio, 1950s. Condition is "Used". USPS First Class Mail.
When I was a kid, we’d drive up to Marblehead or Port Clinton (Ohio) and catch the ferry over to Kelley’s Island for a fun-filled day on Lake Erie.
It was just a great time for the whole family and there were always souvenir shops around to pick a remembrance of the outing on Lake Erie. This is from that time. I bought it at a Sandusky antique shop about 30 years ago and I’ve stored some trinkets frommy travels in it. Since Mother’s Day is coming up, I decided to sell it on eBay in case others have warm feelings about Kelley’s Island – and it’s just in time for Mother’s Day.
It’s small – just theright size for mom’s dresser – 5 x 4 x2.
The top has the most beautiful message “I Love You MOM” with roses and a butterfly. The side has the obligatory Kelley’sIsland, Ohio, stamp. I don’t know where it was made. The hinges are perfect and there is no latch – never was. What a great little, inexpensive gift for your special mom.And a portion of the proceeds of the sale goes to Feeding America, wouldn't yout mom be proud?
