won't harm your horse
. Inserting the shims give additional protection to your horse's back and ensures clearance from the spine. Specifically recommended for
very slender riders
and
heavy riders
. Also for horses that have
visible spinal processes
and badly muscled backs. Suitable also for older horses.
Most bareback pads or riding cushions can be bad for a horse, causing discomfort. Usually caused by their girths running directly across the back, which distributes all pressure into one or possibly two spinous processes. This
Barefoot Physio Ride-On Pad
has V-girthing which works to distribute pressure along the entire pad. Also, there are no stirrup attachments, as pressure points would occur when standing in stirrups.
The Ride-On pad's high
density foam padding
in alternate thicknesses is extremely stable on your horse's back. The properties of the Sympanova material on the pad's underside makes the pad non-slip, while the upper side is made of microfiber. The upper ensures good grip for riders, even at speed. The horse-friendly girthing has patches with 100% sheep fleece on the underside. This stabilizes the girthing, and doesn't irritate your horse's coat along the side. The pad can be used in combination with the Barefoot sheepskin girth (recommended).
The design of the pad incorporates a sturdy nylon grab handle, and D-rings for attaching bags.
